Zookeepers typically have to have at least an associates degree (2 yr) in biological science, animal science, zoology, or related major. Preferred is a bachelor's (4 yr) in the same majors. Experience can be substituted for education, but it can be very hard to get experience.
Also zookeepers are highly smart and need serious training!
