i would suggest dance lessons from an early age on and connecting to dance schools for referrals and go to contests...also if you wish to do country/western dance, start taking line-dance and other lessons - you will meet a lot of people if nothing else.
You need to be determined and patient when becoming a proffessional dancer. If you work hard enough you will be the best!! It is best if you participate in activities that can help you become a professional dancer such as Ballet and gymnastics.
Training for each specific person may vary according to the person's own previous experience and natural talent. Becoming a professional dancer is hard work and you need to be willing to work hard in every single class or audition you take. You need to be ready to face rejection, as so many dancers try and fail, but to make success in the industry you HAVE to stick to it and not quit because you failed at one thing.
some people may think that they need to go to a performing arts high school when your young to become a professional. yes it helps. but its not a must. there are lost of colleges or universities that offer dance as a major offering you the training you need to become a professional, but this is provided you've done years of training while young. OK, if you're a talented dancer then maybe you can start in your late teens, early 20s, but most people who make it as professionals have had lots of experience while their young. participating in shows, eisteddfords and auditions, no matter how small, all help in making your way up to the professional stage.
It takes determination and energy. If you believe that you can do it then you can and always try your best.
I think its best to tell you that I am not a professional dancer, but I have years of experience as a dancer and have had many industry trained professionals teaching me the important things to make it in the industry. Also the best thing that you can give as a dancer, is ENERGY. Energy is the key to EVERYTHING in dance!
You don't actually need any qualifications... it's not as if you need a uni degree to dance in a music video! Although that's true your much more likely to be picked for jobs and such if you have many years of dance classes and plenty of work experience... a bulky resume is always good!
Professional dancers usually have a degree in dance. Some dancers, however, are self-taught and they become professional dancers through practice.
You simply work for it and train as much as you can. I recommend going into a dance class and learning techniques.
I don't think so, all you need is yourself, some hope, and a lot of determination, and you will be just fine! If you believe you can do it, YOU CAN!!:):):):):):)
It depends on what kind of dancing you want to do but I would suggest ballet, lyrical, maybe modern, and whatever other kinds of dance you want to do proffetionally.
