Florida won the National Championship in 2006 & repeated in 2007
  • The Blue Devils consecutive championship seasons were:
  • 1991 Duke (32-7)
  • 1992 Duke (34-2)
  • It's been 14 years since any NCAA team won consecutive National Championships.
  • Prior to Duke's two consecutive championships, the UCLA Bruins won 7 consecutive championships from 1967 to 1973 and 10 of the 12 championships from 1964 to 1975. The Texas Western Miners(now Texas El Paso)and the North Carolina State Wolfpack were the only other champions during the Bruins remarkable run. With the parity that now exsists in College Basketball, neither of their unmatched streaks will most probably never be equaled. The Bruin's unmatched streak(s)are:
  • 1964 UCLA (30-0)
  • 1965 UCLA (28-2)
  • 1966 UTEP (28-1)
  • 1967 UCLA (29-1)
  • 1968 UCLA (29-1)
  • 1969 UCLA (29-1)
  • 1970 UCLA (28-2)
  • 1971 UCLA (29-1)
  • 1972 UCLA (30-0)
  • 1973 UCLA (30-0)
  • 1974 North Carolina St. (30-1)
  • 1975 UCLA (28-3)
  • Other 2 year consecutive champions were:
  • 1945 Oklahoma St. (27-4)
  • 1946 Oklahoma St. (31-2)
  • 1948 Kentucky (36-3)
  • 1949 Kentucky (32-2)
  • 1961 Cincinnati (27-3)
  • 1962 Cincinnati (29-2)
  • Here is the complete list of NCAA Hoops Champs from NCAA.com from the Oregon Ducks in 1939 to the Florida 'Gators in 2006:

How many ncaa football teams have won back to back national championships?

Since the Poll Era began in 1936, when the Associated Press (AP) crowned a champion at the end of the year (the Coaches Poll joined them in 1950), there have been 6 schools to accomplish the feat, officially--7, if you want to count USC, whose 2003-04 BCS title was stripped by the BCS as a result of Reggie Bush receiving improper benefits. The AP Poll kept them as their national champion, as they did the year before, but, since the BCS implemented the BCS Championship Game in the '98 season, the AP Poll winner is not officially recognized as national champion. But, for the sake of argument, they are included on this list. (Note: Before the BCS crowned a champion, a #1 ranking in either the AP or Coaches Poll allowed a school to claim a national championship. At times there have been split or shared national titles due to different champions from the AP and Coaches Polls, but both count.) With that in mind, here is a list of back-to-back national champions by season since 1936:

1) Alabama: (3) '64/'65 (AP Champ), '78 (AP)/'79, 2011/2012

2) Nebraska: (2) '70 (AP)/'71, '94/'95

3) Oklahoma: (2) '55/'56, '74 (AP)/'75

3) USC: 2003 (AP), 2004* (AP)

4) Texas: '69/'70 (Coaches)

5) Notre Dame: '46/'47

6) Army: '44/'45

7) Minnesota: '40/'41

*USC title vacated by BCS due to NCAA violations.

For back-to-back national champions before the Poll Era, this link should provide a more comprehensive list:

What college program has the most titles in all sports?

The answer to this question is tricky. There are several different 'titles' that have been won since universities began competing in sports. There are NCAA titles which go back several decades (sorry, I do not know the history of the NCAA, but they have a website: ncaa.com). The NCAA gives out 'titles' to teams and to individuals. There have been other institutions before the NCAA that gave out 'titles' to universities. The only definitive answer that I know of, is based on NCAA team titles. UCLA has won 104 team titles with Stanford and USC in second and third with fifteen-to-twenty less team titles.
