Determine how many gallons of water your swimming pool holds. You will also need to consider what size filter that you have. If you have an undersized filter to pump it can create filtration and circulation problems. Be sure to look at the turnover rate for your pump and filter that you are considering. If you have an aboveground pool most pump and filters are sold as a pre-sized set.
The size pump required is directly related to the type of filter you have. Every filter has a minimum and maximum flow rating (gallons per minute). The pump must perform within this range for the filter to be effective. Oversizing the pumps output to the filters rated capacity is a common problem that reduces the filters performance and wastes electricity and dollars. Find the maximum GPM your filter can handle. Target your pump to be slightly less than that and you should find the performance satisfactory. Pool & Spa
I believe a 1/4 to 1/2 hp pump should be sufficient for a pool that is 5000 gallons. The rate is that it should be able to cycle the total volume of the pool in 8 hours. that will be determined by the GPM Gallon Per Minute rating of the pump. In the 5000 gal range a 1/4 or 1/2 has enough gpm to cycle 5000 gallons in 8 hours.
For jr Olympic 25M with 6 lanes. Will usually have a 7.5 hp pump such as Pentair EQ
3/4 hp. A 16 x 32 pool can get by with a 3/4 hp motor, particularly if it has Grecian corners, but I would replace it with a one hp pump when the time comes.
A 1-horsepower pump should be just fine.
1.5hp
Just get a 1 1/2 horse pool pump and that should do the job beautifully,
Cannot be answered with only these measurements. You need to specify what shape the pool is. Also, for a rectangular pool, the length, width and depth are needed. For a round pool, the diameter and depth are needed.
15 inches without pump. 16 inches with pump
smallblock chevys usually use studs for water pump pulley. the thread size is 5/16" dia. nf (national fine thread) on the water pump flange side and 5/16" course thread on the pulley side of stud. if you use bolts you will need 5/16"NF x 3/4" long.
How long is the pool? __________ If the pool is an Olympic-size pool, which is 50 m (164 ft) long, you can calculate the number of miles.
very small pool ..... i would say 8 by 16 or equivalent ... maybe a swim jet pool or large hottub
In a 50 meter pool, one mile would be 16 laps (32 lengths).
No. A pool of this size can contain a maximum of 6,000 gallons of water.
A pool this size with an average depth of 16 feet requires 462,560 gallons of water to fill it to the top.
