Cal Ripken started out as a Shortstop in 1981, and was moved to third base late in his career (1997) He also played 3B in 1981 (6 games) and 71 games in 1982.

That was Cal Ripken Jr, not Sr. Cal Sr. never played at the major league level. Not sure what position he played.
