in the 40s Ben Hogan used what i can best verify as a late 1930s spur by macgregor, it had;
no plastic hosel, just extended steel hosel as part of the head
no engraving/stamping on the sole
engraving in the curve of the the head in back of the face
long leather grip
engraving was in script
face had xxxxs evgraved in the sweetspot
cant find in the macgregor catalogues

∙ 10y ago1940s - Gerry Glynn putter; 1950 to 1953 - Macgregor Parmaker, 1954 to 1967 - center shafted putter and what was patented in 1962 by Hogan Golf Company as the "exact balance" putter. Hogan experimented with many different styles of putters, however, most of his tournament wins were made using these three putter styles.
