What motion is throwing a football?

When a football is thrown most expect it to spiral through the air to its target as opposed to flipping over itself and missing its target completely or possibly getting picked off. Most just have to find their rhythm and what works best for them.

But there are some who believe that if the football makes its target without any chance of it being intercepted then it could be thrown backwards for all they care.

the perfect throwing motion is probably bringing it up, but don't drop it down below you're chest or neck, dropping it below you're waist can cause a fumble
