The House That Steiner Built?Seats from the 1973 renovation were sold for the price of $7.00 (that's right seven dollars) at stores like E.J. Korvettes, and even Winston cigarettes had a mail away offer for the same price. Most of those seats were from the 1950s.

Today, seats that were installed in the 1920s sell as high as $3,000. If you shop around You may find them for about $1,800. The Seats from the 1950s you might be able to pick up around the $1,000. range.

New York City owns Yankee Stadium, and is negotiating the rights to sell memorabilia from the stadium with the Yankees. As of now it looks like the going price for Yankee Stadium seats from the current Stadium will be about $500. per seat.

== == It depends on the overall condition of the seats. You might want to compare the condition of your seats with photos posted on: YankeeStadiumSeats.com (See Related Links below) You can get an idea of what they can retail for these days. There are lots of different seats posted on this website at several different price points. The nicer all original condition your seats are in, the more valuable they can be. More input In general, Yankee Stadium seats that were originally installed in the 1920's sell between $2,000. - $3,000.for a single seat.up to $4,000+ for row seats The Seats from the 1950's sell between $1,200. -$1,800. per seat, and multiple row seats start at about $1,000. a seat x the amount of seats in the row and up. Value will vary based on condition. Used but not abused seats sell at the highest price. Seats that were poorly stored away and show signs of rust, or wood rot will sell at a low value. Restored seats could sell for less than a seat in good condition, in it's original state. With the new Stadium opening in 2009 the older seats should go up in value. The current predicted price for seats that will be sold after the closing will be $500. per seat. Most collectors would prefer the seats "as is." If the seats are a little roughed up in their original state with normal wear they would be worth more than seats that were restored. If this is the case I would leave them alone. If the seats are ruined from improper storage, and show signs of rust, or wood rot then you might want to look into having them restored. Only if the seats are a complete eye sore. Restoration to any collectible should be left to the expert that has experience with that type of work. If you do it yourself, and don't get it right you will devalue them further. The work could involve removing rust, repairing or replacing rotted wood, and then getting the paint job right. This is very important. The paint must be matched correctly including the "sea foam green" as a primer (the original color the seat were at one time) then painting the seats "Yankee Stadium Blue" the color the seats have been since 1967. If your seats have any paint wear you can see the color green that I'm referring to below the top coat. Do not try to match the paint from a picture or a computer image. The paint should be matched from the seat directly by an experienced paint mixer. Do Not paint over the seat without properly preparing the surface. All rust should be removed. Damaged wood should be repaired, and if called for replaced. All of the old paint surface should be sanded down, and cleaned properly before applying the Green primer, and Blue Paint. Any shortcuts will compromise the value of the seat.
