A 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures: Robinson, Reese, Snider, Hodges, Campanella, Furillo, Erskine, Gilliam, Newcombe, Kofax, and Drysdale is worth about $1,000.-$1,800.

Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable. According to the collector's price guide, "Team Baseballs," your ball is worth between $300-600, with value being greater or lower depending on exact year and players present - in particular, the inclusion or exclusion of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson - plus the all-important overall condition of the ball and Autographs. The difference in the value of a 1946 of 1947 Dodgers ball is several hundred dollars based solely on the presence of Robinson. Other key factors include type of ball (is it an "Official National League" ball?), whether there are any "clubhouse signatures" (autographs signed by ballboys, attendants, etc), and number of signatures present. The authenticity of the Robinson signature is of particular importance. These factors, plus the authenticity of the all the significant signatures are the main variables in determining value.

1946 or 1947....There is a big difference in price between a 1946, and a 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball.

A 1946 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures: Durocher, Reese, Medwick, and Higbe is worth about $300.-$500.

A 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures: Robinson, Reese, Vaughan, Snider, Hodges, Branca, and Hatten is worth about $2,500. -$3,500

Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the baseball could sell at half the market value or less.

If the baseball is a combination of players from both years ( 1946/47) then the baseball could have a value closer to the 1946 baseball.

Visit the Team Signed Baseball Price Guide located below (Related Links). The price guide features links to full team rosters to help you figure out what year the baseball is from. Searching for the players that played the least amount of time for the team will help you figure it out quicker. Once you have narrowed it down to one year the price guide also provides a list of key signatures for that year. These signatures are the most important on getting top value.

A 1948 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures: Rizzuto, DiMaggio, Berra, and Raschi is worth about $1,200. -$1,500. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable. The "sweet spot" on team signed baseballs is typically reserved for the manager of the team, or and the teams most popular player. The choice of the player that signs the "sweet spot" can effect the value of the baseball. Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot will make the baseball more desirable, and possibly add value. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the baseball could sell at half the market value or less. A Pee Wee Reese signed baseball card is worth between $60.-$100. Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. Signatures that have not been properly authenticated could sell at half the market value or less. Add for inscriptions. Collectible items could add value to the price of a signature but not always. As in the case of a baseball card, generally collectors of baseball cards would rather have a baseball card without the signature. The signature would be considered as a flaw in the condition of the card and will lower the value.

A collector of signatures will not always pay extra for the "collectible" baseball card. The autograph collectors main concern is displaying the signature. This is why it is not a good idea to have an expensive baseball card signed. You could devalue the price of the card, and get less for it.

Once a collectible baseball card is signed the value of the card dramatically goes down as a collectible. The card then becomes an Item to display the signature. The bulk of the value relies on the value of the signature of the player that signed the card, and how well the card displays the signature.

In general a signed baseball card is worth about 30% - 40% the price of a signed baseball or the same price of a signed 8 x 10 photo. A high valued card can add some value.
