Hank Aaron 125S Louisville Slugger store model bat

A Hank Aaron 125S Louisville Slugger store model bat is worth between $50.-$75. in used but not abused condition to $75.-$125. in excellent-near/mint condition depending on the dating of the bat. Older bats in near/mint - mint condition will sell for more.

The age of the bat will be a factor on value. for example; if the bat was made during the 1948 - 1963 labeling period indicated by "REG US PAT OFF" below the center label it will sell at a higher range than a bat made during the 1964-1980 labeling period.

The S after 125 stands for Special and might have the word Special above the Hank Aaron name on the barrel. The size of the bat will also effect the value.

A Jackie Robinson Louisville Slugger store model Baseball bat in general is worth about $50.-$150. There are many factors that could effect the value more or less.

As with all Collectible condition is important. Used and abused, bats with chips, faded printing,or split wood, will sell for far less than bats that are in used but excellent condition, to unused mint condition. The size and model number of the bat is important as well. A bat closer to the size, and model the ballplayer used during his career will be of higher value. Little league bats, 31 inches or shorter will be of less value.

Your bat if marked 'H & B in the middle' indicates an inexpensive store model bat and would not be stamped 125 wich is the highest grade of bats made by Louisville Slugger.

The date the bat was made will also factor into value. Older bats will sell at a higher price. To find out how old your Jackie Robinson Louisville Slugger bat is and other information visit the link below. Louisville Slugger Bat Dating.

You did not mention the size of the bat, condition, and if the bat was endorsed by a player. Baseball bats without a player endorsement will have low collectors value. The bat you have could be a pro model bat if it reads Genuine k48 Astros on the barrel. But if it cannot be attributed to a player it will have a lower value most likely below $100. If the bat has inch marks on the knob it is a store model bat and will be worth about $20. -$30. The dating of the bat is one of the most important factors on value along with condition. Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Louisville Slugger has used different oval center brands in their history. By identifying the center label, trade marks, and patens you can narrow down the year to what era the bat was made.

The bulk of the value for a collectible baseball bat relies on the player endorsement. Without a player endorsement it will have a low collectors value. The value will then rely on vintage bat features like a mushroom knob, decal, or ornamental engraving. You did not mention if the bat was endorsed. More information would be needed to put a value on the bat. such as the size of the bat, and label markings (pat. & trademarks) are important for dating the bat. See Related Links below for a bat dating guide. The "125" refers to the grade of wood used to make the bat. "125" is the highest grade and is reserved for all pro level bats. The "125" bats are also used for the highest quality store model bats. "Powerized" is a process of drying and hardening the wood used on higher grade bats, and professional models.
