Value..........About $10 CDN. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to my research, the card is valued at only $8 on paper, and that's for a card in absolutely pristine, mint condition. That's slightly lower that the figure Jim Bunting quoted, so there may be regional differences in value depending on the popularity of the player. If you want a quick way to value a card and you've got internet access, just do an advanced search of completed eBay auctions and look to see if any Palmateer RCs have been sold. That will give you factual data about what people are willing to pay for this card, regardless of what a book or Jim Bunting or I tell you. Over the last month or so, people have been willing to pay about $2.50, so it's not a hot time for a Palmateer rookie. The good news is that his memorabilia cards are raking in dough, so this is a great time to own or sell a jersey card, an autograph card, etc.

If it includes a Mike Bossy rookie I could see it selling fairly high. I've seen a few sheets sell for a couple hundred that had a lemiuex rookie in the sheet. But sorry I can't really give a price since it all depends on who wants to buy it and how much they are willing to buy it for. All you can do is add up the value of the cards on the sheet to get some sort of total.

Roy's rookie card is valued between $75 and $150 on paper. However, you don't want to know what the card is worth as much as you want to know what you could sell it for, right? If that's the case, the news is confusing. I did a check of closed eBay auctions over the past three months, and the Patrick Roy rookie card hasn't been a big seller, and prices have been hit and miss. A graded BGS 8 card sold for $189, and that was also the highest overall sale. The highest price for an ungraded card was $134. However, before you start planning your auction listing and dreaming of what you'll buy with your $115 (after eBay and PayPal fees), I need to warn you that some really nice-looking Roy rookie cards sold for as little as $17.50, $22, $23, $26, $27... you get the idea. You won't know if your card will be the one to fetch $20 or the one to rake in $130 until you actually have the auction listed, and then there's no turning back. Because the market for Roy cards looks very unstable, I'd take comfort in the book value of your card, and just hang onto it for a while longer. If possible, have your card graded by a reputable service like PSA or BGS. It will protect the card, and will also prove its condition when you decide to part with it. If you're lucky enough to have a card which grades as a 9 or better, you could probably sell it just about any time and realize a large return.
