From the 56 years span between 1950-2006 there are 119 different New York Yankees yearbooks. There are 85 different yearbooks just in the 27 year period from 1956-1982, and there are three or more different editions for virtually every year in that 27 year stretch including one year 1966 that had five different editions. Different publication include Jay publishing Co., official Yankees first editions, 2nd editions, 3rd editions, and revised editions. the 1957 Yankees yearbook had four different editions. First edition, second edition, second edition/second printing, and the Big League edition which has a different cover than the first three. The first edition was issued in April with the second edition being issued in July, and has no indication on the cover as being a different edition. One way of telling the difference is by the roster changes. The Third edition reads "Revised edition" on the cover. The Big League books are the Jay publishing edition, and has a red white and blue cover with the art work of a Yankee player swinging a bat, as opposed to the other three official editions picturing the artwork of a Yankee player with glove, and a Yankee Stadium backdrop. The Jay Publishing books also Indicate "Not Official" on the first page of each yearbook starting in 1955. The 1957 yearbook sells between $90.- $200. in excellent condition with the Jay Publishing book being the least expensive. Issues in mint condition or in less than excellent condition will sell higher or lower accordingly. Even minor flaws will devalue the yearbook considerably. The 1959 Yankee Yearbook has three editions. First edition issued in April, the "Revised Edition" issued in July both picturing Yankee Stadium in a circle on a Red cover. The Big League third edition, Jay Publishing artwork of a Yankee player kneeling with bat on a blue cover. The 1959 yearbooks are priced at about $105.00 - $150.00 in excellent condition, up to about $200.-$225. in mint condition, and about $80. for the Big League edition.
