Topps did not issue a Mickey Mantle card in 1954. Bowman, who Topps bought out in 1956 did issue a Mantle card. In 1989, Topps once again began production of cards with the Bowman name, and a reproduction of the card was issued in 1996. In 2007 Topps put out a set with Mickey Mantle cards presented on the famous 1954 Topps artwork.

Bowman had a contract with Mickey Mantle in 1954 and 1955There were no Topps baseball cards made for Mickey Mantle in 1954, and 1955. Bowman had an exclusive baseball card contract with Mickey Mantle. In 1956 Topps purchased the Bowman company and ended their rivalry in the sports card market. In 1989, Topps once again began production of cards with the Bowman name. Topps did issue a Mickey Mantle card in 1956.
