When they first came out in 1996 they sold for about $10. - $20. there were plenty available, and everyone that wanted one got one. Now with low demand, they sell for half that price. If you had the box hand signed by Cal Ripken Jr. the cereal box becomes an item to display the signature, and looses value as a collectible cereal box. The price of the signed cereal box now relies on the value of the signature and how well it displays. A Cal Ripken Jr. signed cereal box could sell between $150. - $200. Price may vary based on condition of the box, signature, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature. The value is between 300-400$, now this depends on a few circumstances, the condition, if the autograph is certified by a reputable authentication company, and the presentation meaning if it is framed, if it has his autograph plus handwritten statisitcs like his yardage obtained over his career or if he writes his jersey # 34, Walter payton wheaties boxes are on the lower end of things he could have potentially signed, Footballs and Jerseys are the most amount of money they can command over 1,000$ its crazy but it makes a huge difference on what object he signed, also the fact that he passed away really increases the value of the piece since he is no longer around to sign anything, my advice would definatly be to frame it in a shadow box which is a very deep frame that will hold a box like that, as far as opening the box and removing the cereal if you have not done so already, there are mixed feelings about that I would do some research but you definatly don't want that cereal somehow going bad and ruining the box or the auto, I hope this helps and if the autograph was not signed directly in front of you then I would strongly advise getting it authenticated by either JSA or PSA/DNA, there are so many forged Paytons out there that without a big name authenticator people are always going to be suspect about it, but its definatly a nice piece to have considering he's deceased and one of the greatest to play the game, you def have between a 3 & 4 hundred dollar piece though so i hope that answers your ?.

Not a fantastic amount. One signed by Michael Jordan sold in 2017 for $9. The older boxes, especially those signed by deceased athletes, are slightly more valuable. As usual, it depends on supply and demand.
