But U of Tex had some rough years before that. Florida has been consisitantly good for the last 25 years, so for the most part have Michigan, Nebraska, USC and Notre Dame -- all of which likely have better records than UCLA

∙ 15y agoAs of the 2008 season, for schools that have played at least 10 bowl games, that would be Utah with a 10-3 record for a .769 winning percentage. For schools that have played at least 20 bowl games that would be Penn State with a 26-12-2 record for a .675 winning percentage.

∙ 12y agoboise state . . . since 2005 (as in the 2006 through the 2010 season that just completed, and including all bowl games played in) . . . over this period of time, Boise State has a 61-5 record -- 58-3 in regular season and 3-2 in bowl games.
In the 5-year period before that (2001-2005 seasons + bowl games), Boise was 53-11.
Considering that Boise moved up to the BCS (division 1-A) in 1996 from Division 1-AA, they have done incredibly well. Most teams that make the move from a lower division to the "big leagues" do not enjoy such a continuous level of success so soon.

Best College football record over the last 5 years
In football, for coaches that coached at least 5 years at Notre Dame, that is Knute Rockne with an 88.1 winning percentage (record was 105-12-5 over 13 seasons between 1918-1930). Jack Marks had a 93.3 winning percentage over two years (record was 13-0-2 between 1911-1912).
That depends; who are you? If you were a past college football player who wants to return after playing four years, sorry, but you cannot return to play college football after your 4 years of eligibility are up.
college football you only have 4 years to play and you don't get paid in nfl you get paid and choose when to quit
