There are comments that you should not adjust the gap sizes of the plugs and use them the way they come out of the box. Hmmm .. I have a 1999 Grand Prix GTP with the 3.8L V6 supercharged engine. My GM owners manual states a gap of .060 for all the replacement plugs listed not only for my engine but for all Grand Prix engine sizes of that year 3.1 / 3.8 / 3.8SC Check your GM owners manual .. it will state there in the section of different replacement parts, what spark plugs to use and the gap size
The 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.4 liter engine spark plug gap should be .028. Most spark plugs come pre-gapped from the manufacturer.
for what motor? a 3.8 L would be 0.060
on a 3.1 it is 0.60

Your 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix will experience cylinder misfires when one or several of the spark plug wires are bad. A bad spark plug can also cause the problem.

Follow the high tension wire to the plug, which is deeply recessed into the head.
If you've already replaced the spark plug wires, try removing the spark plug boot heat shield.
