The "Nation" was a term used loosely in the 60s to describe the all-welcoming and rebellious Oakland Raiders. It became officially recognized in the lexicon of sports upon their move to Los Angeles. Many Bay Area fans, especially droves of Hells Angels came to town to support their gone but not forgotten team. It was used by Jim Hudson in 1982 to describe the fans. He actually developed an agreement with the NFL for the rights to the term later.
