The University of Utah made history with Andrew Bogut's #1 selection in the 2005 NBA draft. Earlier that year, Utah quarterback Alex Smith was the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Utah became the first school to have athletes drafted #1 overall to both the NFL and the NBA in the same year.
he can only be drafted into the NFL by participating in the College league and get drafted. norwegian football players are not known ( because it is not a big sport in Norway)
In the last 12 years the only player to go straight to the pros was in 2000, when Xavier Nady was drafted and brought straight u to the majors.
Yes, but there is no draft going on.
Yes. When a player is drafted during the NFL draft the team that drafted them owns the signing rights. So, if the player refuses to play they will have to wait a year and then get signed as a free agent. If that team doesn't do anything with the signing rights to the player they will not play in the NFL that year. If a player is not drafted they become an 'undrafted free agent' and are immediately available to be picked up by any team.
Ray Guy, drafted in the first round by the Oakland Raiders in 1973, is the only punter to be drafted in the first round in the NFL draft.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Ablert Pujols attended maplewoods community college outside of kansas city, and was drafted by the cardinals after his two years there, he then shot through all levels of the minor leagues in one season and made the team out of spring training in 2001, the rest is history. David Eckstein is the only cardinal player (or former cardinal player i guess) that comes to mind as being drafted by the Red Sox, and i can assure u, if they had drafted him first then we would have definitely heard about how they missed out
Harvard College. It was America's first college also, not only the first in Boston.
He's the only athlete to be drafted by three major sports (baseball, football and basketball).
Brees, from Purdue, was drafted as the first player in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft (#32 overall).Only one quarterback was drafted ahead of him: Michael Vick (#1 overall).
I believe I read somewhere that he only went as far as high school graduation because he was drafted by the NJ Devils in the first round right out of hign school. I believe he said in an interview that if he wasn't drafted he would have probably gone to college.
Through the 29th round, the only player from Michigan State drafted was catcher Eric Roof, selected in the 18th round by the Detroit Tigers.
No because you have to get drafted from college. Actually - you can't because once you get paid, you cannot play for the NCAA - this applies for NCAA colleges only...I assume.
