The second oldest NHL rink is Madison Square Garden (MSG) home of the New York Rangers. MSG opened on February the 11th 1968. Now, MSG is the oldest rink in the NHL because Mellon Arena aka The Igloo, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins was the oldest NHL arena. It was the home of the Pens since they joined the NHL in 1966. The Pens played their final game at The Igloo on May 12th 2010. For the 2010-11 season, the Pens will be moving to their "new gig", The Consol Energy Center.
