It depends on whether you consider "total runs scored" as either including or not including RBI's. The record for total runs scored (2 runs plus 6 RBI's) was set by Fernando Tatis on April 23, 1999 after two grand slams in one inning. There is a three way record for most runs scored by a single individual in one inning: 3 runs for Sammy White on June 18, 1953 and 3 runs for both Tom Burns and Ned Williamson (both in the same game for the Chicago Colts) on September 6, 1883.

Most runs by a MLB team was scored by the Chicago Colts on June 29th 1897 vs the Louisville Colonels...the score of the game was 36-7...

Most runs in the modern era (after 1900) occurred this year August 22nd 2007 when the Texas Rangers won 30-3 over the Baltimore Orioles...

Most combined runs for both teams in a game occurred on August 25th 1922 when the Chicago Cubs defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 26 to 23. Remember the game well...it was one of those days when the wind was howling out of Wrigley and any flyball was ending up in the seats...

I know it's more than 10, I think 14 but that could've been the whole inning. I remember it was the Red Sox, I don't remember who against.

Split the difference, it was 12!  It seems the (Brooklyn) Dodgers did it in 1953 and the Red Sox matched the feat in 2009.

This feat happened 3 times; in 2002 ALCS (Angels vs Twins), 1968 World Series (Tigers vs Cardinals) and 1929 World Series (A's vs Cubs)
