Back in the early late 70's to early 80's the record was supposedly held by the Gaylord Spartans of Gaylord, Minnesota who went undefeated two or three seasons in a row winning state championships. There was mention of it in a USA Today article at the time. The following year they again were undefeated through the first two thirds of the season before losing. At the time according to the article that I do remember being published in the paper the match winning streak was called the longest on record for a high school volleyball program. Later that record would be beaten numerous time and is currently held by Evergreen, CO at 182 (1978-1985). Funny that this coincided with Gaylors run as well. Interestingly enough Gaylord is not enough listed within the top 6 streaks for Girls high School volleyball. The Bancroft School in Worcester Massachusetts is on a current 149 match winning streak competing in the 2010-2011 season which includes 6 NEPSAC Championshipships. Third Place is Seneca Nemaha Valley, KS (1988-91) with 137. No boys high school program has ever reached the 70 consecutive match victory mark.
