∙ 11y agoThis depends upon the manufacturer. However, generally it is made of the same polyester or phenolic based material that is used on the outer layers. The cue ball is typically made in 2 or 3 layers, but can be more.

∙ 11y agoHello, i would like to place my viewpoint. Elephants were slaughtered in the mid of 19th century and their tusks were used to make billiard balls. A total of 8 balls could be made from that. In the ancient times wood was used to make billiard balls. Nowadays plastic materials are being used by different manufacturers that are resistant to cracking and chipping like Saluc, Polyster and Acrylic.
