Years are a measurement of time; light years are a measurement of distance. A light year is the distance light travels in one year (in a vacuum).

The Wabash 'the paper' ran a article several years ago telling of a mound near the Laketon "fish trap". It had to be removed for the covered bridge to be built (now gone). A giant was dicovered over 8' tall, the bones were dust an could not be saved. Another mound had to be removed where the Wabash court house sets. It contained a giant over 9' tall, I believe one of these giants had red hair.

The pitchers mound was created in the late 1800's. It was put in to create a downward angle for the pitches, and to help the pitcher generate speed when sloping downhill. The height was originally 10 inches, but was raised to 15 in 1903. Over the years, hitting went down, and the mound was lowered back to ten inches.
In MLB, no. The last change in mound height occurred at the start of the 1969 season when the height was lowered from 15 inches to 10 inches.
In fast-pitch softball, it's 46 feet for men and 43 feet for women and everyone under 18 years of age.
Although the distance may vary between leagues and associations, the pitching distance in 10 and under modified or fastpitch softball is usually accepted to be 35 feet. This distance has changed in some national associations over the past few years, and you may find anything from 34-36 feet. This is measured from the back point of the WHITE part of homeplate (not the black part) to the front-middle of the pitching rubber.
The length from homeplate to the pitcher's mound in 10U fast-pitch is 35-40 feet. It depends on your league.
