They are basically the same company just different names. Their products are nearly identical. There is even some speciaulation as to Proto discontinuing the PM8 because Dye wanted to use that is "new" technology for their guns

Not really, in fact, many players use the Dye backs and a Proto tip.

There are a lot of differences between the 2 markers. The ASAs are different, barrels, bodies, and feednecks. The main difference is the bolt systems. Planet Eclipse uses an open bolt system while Dye uses a spool valve.

They are very similar (as Dye owns Proto), but the Dye UL is much lighter and offers slightly better accuracy. accuracy is determined by paint to bore match and paint quality, depending on the paint you use the proto could very well be more accurate, as for the two barrels the UL is not much lighter, if anything it is very minimal and i have yet to see that anything besides the logo and a little of the outward shape is different between these barrels
