∙ 12y agoThis is a tricky question, because you need to define 'prep school'. If you mean a private, residential high school, then Oak Hill would be an obvious answer, though there are many good schools. See ESPN rise brackets for some names.
If you want a private, residential school with a post graduate or 'prep' year, it gets even trickier. Because these schools work with a portion of their teams that are only there for one year, typically to work on eligibility requirements, the teams will have significant turnover each year. Schools such as Brewster Academy, St. Thomas Moore, South Kent, New Hampton and where I work, Phelps School all have strong teams. You also have prep schools such as Bridgeton in Maine that is a post graduate school. That is to say, as I understand it, they do not have grades 9-12, just the post graduate year.
Schools usually compete here:

The biggest thing you want to be wary of is the fly-by-nights that pop up, usually in inner city areas. These schools typically are ill prepared to support students with classes but rather spend a year exposing boys' Basketball talents and trying to prepare them for their SAT's. Because of the high costs of prep schools, these "factories" are often times the only options for boys without means.
Typically, if a college coach from a division one or two school wants you enough he will help you become eligible by finding you a prep school that is capable of helping you. If you have the money, and can find a prep school to work with you, it can make you a lot more attractive to coaches. Financial aid, though is difficult to get at a prep school and secondary funding from loans are almost non existent for secondary schools.

∙ 13y agoSouth Panola Tigers, from Batesville MS. They are undefeated this season (2010) and 2 years ago had a winning streak of 89 games. Since then they lost 2 games, 1 that year and another last year on a extra point attempt. They are said to be better than ever this year and will play for the Nationals if winning the State this year again. They are 8 time state champions, and has won it 5 times in a row, 6 if they win this year.
Ranked number 1 according to big pools like Rivals.com and ESPN.

The Detroit Lions would win, because the NFL pulls out the best of the best college football players and college football takes the best high school football players. The Lions would win easy.
I do not know about being a football star. He did play football in high school though. I believe baseball was his game. In his senior year, Johnny was rated the top high school prospect in the country by Baseball America.
I would have to say that either Texas or California has the best High School football talent. I am leaning towards Texas.
