Somewhere between 30 and 45 miles an hour. Now that might sound a little like bs, but its not. That it the range were elite quarterbacks like Peyton Manning or Mike Vick clock in and only the really experienced players can match it. But just to give an example of the caliber of that speed, think about this. Throwing a football at nearly 50 miles an hour due it shape is equivelent to throwing a 100 mile an hour fast ball in Baseball.

This is not 100% accurate most decent qbs can throw over 50 mph from a distance about 50 ft away. I'm no where near good and threw 50 at fanfare yesterday before the unc lsu game not even warmed up.

I have seen farve throw close to 65 mph on a 10 yrd comeback which is about a 20 yrd thorw.

Just watched Sports Science on ESPN. He states a QB throwing a 40 MPH football

is the equivalent of a baseball pitcher throwing a 120 MPH fastball.

BTW, re: Farve, why does Greg Jennings recently say Rodgers throws harder?
