I think four countries can bid for a world cup.
For which year are you asking abut.
There were six countries that placed bids to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Four of these countries placed joint-bids:Belgium and the Netherlands (joint-bid)EnglandRussiaSpain and Portugal (joint-bid)
They bid and bid and bid towin the right to host the Olympics
They bid and bid and bid towin the right to host the Olympics
Countries bidding to host 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup:Egypt (bid inquiry; withdrew without officially placing a bid)Mexico (withdrew bid on September 28, 2009)Belgium and the Netherlands (joint bid)EnglandRussiaSpain and Portugal (joint bid)United StatesCountries bidding to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup only:Indonesia (bid rejected on March 19, 2010)South KoreaQatarAustraliaJapan
There are three countries that bid for the olympics. Those countries are Austria, Russia, and South Korea.
A bid size is a number of shares that a buyer is willing to purchase at the quoted bid price.
FIFA decided that the 2014 cup should be in South America, and only two countries (Brazil and Columbia) decided to formally bid. Then Columbia withdrew their bid, so Brazil won by default.
Three South American countries announced their intentions to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup:BrazilColombiaArgentinaBoth Brazil and Colombia formally declared their candidancy, while the Argentina bid never took hold.
Any country can bid for a slot. The reason Third World and other poorer countries don't is because hosting the Olympics comes at great expense to the country and city which hosts it, and the host nation does not actually come out ahead financially for it.
Yes, they have to bid to host it again.
It depends, the city needs to send a bid to host the World Cup. To my knowledge, FIFA picks different continents to host each time. 2010 - Africa, 2014 - South America, 2018 - North America. When its Europe's turn, different countries will present a bid, and FIFA picks one of them.
