In my school the boys average is 7-9 secs for boys and girls
4.8 is totally wrong pro athletes run a 40yd dash in that time. fifth grader is probably somewhere around 8 seconds
I did 7 seconds when I was 10, and was told it was too slow to compete in the Junior Olympics we had in our state.
10 seconds
My best as a 10 year old boy in fifth grade in 1962 was 7.2 seconds. One boy was faster, at 7.1 seconds. I never knew if these were good or just average.
A 10 yard dash time is really not a good judge of your speed, the distance is too short. A 40 yard dash is what you need to get a good estimate of your abilities. but I'll give you time for both 40 yard dash-between 5-5.8 seconds 10 yard dash-between 1.3-1.5 seconds
I'm a 10 year old Girl and I ran a 6.0 in the 40 yard dash. I have proof to show.
It all depends on your weight and height and of course how fast you are but an average time for a 40 yard dash is 6.2 s ( or 6.7-7.3s) if you've heard 5.5 s than you're mistaken. That's definitely not an average time , that's more like a pretty fast time.
6.6 seconds is considered below average for a 40 yard dash for a 12 year old boy. To improve this I would just practice sprints and do leg workouts such as squats.
I would say a 6-6.5 is average, but yes 7.1 is a good starting time
my brother goat sets the record for best 40 yard dash time and its 4'01
Average time for a 13 year old girl running a fifty yard dash is between 17-19 seconds. However, it depends on the physique and stamina of a person. If you are doing anything lower than 13 seconds, you might just get to run in national games.

An average time for a 14-year-old running the 50 meter dash is around 9 seconds. For a 100 meter dash, it would be about 13 seconds.
For a 12 year old boy, 6.82 seconds is the average time for a 40 yard dash. The fastest time posted is 6.13 seconds.
There are no records or data kept for this activity, and therefore also no sample from which to compute an average.
