Im a beginner, and i am currently using Baseball grip, even though everyone is telling me to use interlocking from the start. I think the reason that i am using baseball grip is that my right hand is very lazy. I find that when im gripping the club, my right hand moves more towards the back of the grip ie, away from the target, so that at impact it feels like my right hand is behind the behind the club. I have to say that i am hooking and topping alot, so it is not an ideal situation. To compensate for this i am not swinging a full swing. My main problem is that when i use the interlocking grip, i feel that i cannot hinge my wrists at the end of my backswing. So, to answer the question, everyone will advise that interlocking is best. Baseball in my opinion is used a lot by beginners. But i have to say that despite the fact that i currently use it, i dont feel that my game will improve much until i get that right hand steadied and the right palm covering my left thumb. To do that i feel that i need to evolve to interlocking at some point. So, baseball is not necessarily bad for Golf, but it may limit your development.
