The sacred truce is when all the city states where at war in ancient Greece, so to allow people to get to the Olympic games safely, they called a sacred truce. This made the city states of Greece stop fighting with each other, this went on for 1 month at the start but then it eventually lengthened to three months to allow people to go home safely aswell.
