it a cricket term when a batsmen decides to go hell for leather and delivers a hard powerfull but rather sluggish shot. when he tries to go for a six or a four without really being in a good position to hit hard.kinda like trying to hit a home run without having the right position. its also a term use when your having a hard day at work, you dont feel like working but you try hard. the your having a slog!
