Ice Hockey is a game played on an ice rink by two teams of six players on skates.
The object is to drive a puck (a small, hard rubber disk) into the opponents' goal with a hockey stick while avoiding being hit, or checked, by opposing players.

∙ 14y agoHockey is a game in which two opposing teams use sticks to move a small object into the opposing goal. The two major types of the sport are Field Hockey and ice hockey. Field hockey is played on a open area, traditionally grass but more modernly an artificial surface, and using a ball. Ice hockey is played on an enclosed ice surface, traditionally an iced-over lake or pond but more modernly an artificial rink, and using a small rubber disc called a puck.

∙ 7y agoIce hockey is played with usually 14 or 15 players on a team depending on the league, the team has a captain and 1 or 2 assistant captains. the positions are left and right wing one center and 2 defense the objective is to get the puck into the opposing teams net past the goalie (person who saves shots) and the worst part of the game the refs they keep the game in order and prevent problems the best they can. When playing each side has 6 players on the ice.

∙ 15y agoWell, by field hockey I think you mean hockey games that are done on the ground like field hockey, street hockey,ect. It is called ice hockey. *Field hockey and ice hockey are completely different rulebases. As the first answer pretty much describes, it is simply called "field hockey on ice", like it is called "field hockey on grass", "on turf", "on concrete", etc.

∙ 15y agoA hockey game is played with 5 players on each side including the goalie.The Goalie Tries to stop a rubber disc called a puck. The Goal of hockey is to try and get the "Puck" in the other teams net. A Penalty is an offense against the other team. There is three 20 minute periods and if it is tied at the end of Regulation they go in to "Overtime". the person eith the highest number of goals win.
