The Baker's Format or Baker's Systemis made up from a team of bowlers (usually 5). Each bowler takes turns Bowling the next frame. More emphasis is then put on each frame because you can help or hurt your team instead of just yourself (such as in regular scoring).

Alex, Bob, Charlie, Desiree, and Ethan are on a team bowling in the Baker's System.

Their lineup is as follows:

Frame Number

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th
Alex Bob Charlie Desiree Ethan Alex Bob Charlie Desiree Ethan

It is common practice to have your two best bowlers bowl in the 1st and 5th positions. Usually your best bowler bowls the 5th and 10th frames. This is considered the cleanup position. This is in hopes of them making the biggest difference by scoring the most pins in the 10th frame. The second best bowler would bowl the 1st and 6th frames. This is called the lead off position. This is in the hopes that this player will set the pace and momentum for others to follow.
