A walk on program is a program that allows potential athletes to tryout for the team. A walk on is an athlete on the team but is not on scholarship, so basically it is a student who pays for his own school but is on the team. If you earn your spot on the roster and perform well then you could possibly receive a scholarship. A walk on is usually not recruited. They try out on their own will.
