Chariots were very light so they could go as fast as possible, and were probably made of wicker and leather. It would have been like driving a basket on wheels.

Roman saddles had a frame of wood filled with a stuffing of wool or cloth and covered with leather or other soft materials. It was fastened by means of a girth (cingulum, zona) upon the back of the horse.

Since Roman saddles had no stirrups, they used four horns to support the rider.
