Dear Kobe Bryant,

My name is Marybeth Wilkins and I am writing to you, about my son Quintin. He will be turning sixteen on January 16. Wow, I can't believe it!!! He loves basketball so much, and this year, he was going to start on the JV Basketball team for Rush-Henrietta. Which is located in upstate New York, Rochester. At the end of his Freshman year the last day of school Quintin was playing Basketball with other child and went up to make the basket and came down and landed on his left hand wrong and broke his wrist. So,again no basketball for eight weeks. Then when basketball started in school, he was in a scrimmage game and he went up to block the ball and came down on his left foot and suffered a tfib brake. That is the end of of his season this year.

The reason I'm writing to you, is Quintin just can't cut a break with playing sport. He already is missing one of his buttom teeth after, playing football in the eighth grade. Then I took him to Walt Disney World in the summer of 2008. We noticed Quintin was that he was loseing weight, but just thought he was growing up and loseing his baby fat. Not the case, In November, he couldn't keep any food or stool in. So, I took him to the doctor and he was loseing weight and he needed to seen by a specialist. But it was going to take about a month for them to see him. I didn't think he should wait, so I took him to the ED. Where they admitted him and he stayed in the hospital for nine days including Thanksgiving. The GI doctors told us that Quintin has Krohn Disease, that what was making him sick and that he would be on meds the rest of his life. It was scarey for our family. Because Quintin was never sick like this before. But he is doing good with it now. He hasn't had a flair up since, thank god.

I guess I'm writing to you because he is a big fan of your and he has gone though alot to play basketball. Plus, what kid wouldn't like to hear from Kobe Bryant on his Sixteeth Birthday. He's kind on down, not being able to play Basketball and out of school, plus doesn't go back to the othro doctor until after his birthday. Quintin had to have a rod put in his leg so he is on crutches, and can't bear any weight on his left leg. No fun!!!!

Please if you could send a picture or maybe even call, it would mean so much to Quintin, That would be a great sweet sixteen gift. Thank you,
