Not sure if the All Blacks answer below is from someone who is wishful thinking or just arrogant. The truth is the question is so wide open it would be near impossible to answer it correctly. There are over 200 countries in the world, and literally thousands of national sports teams. It would be impossible to answer without checking the records of every national sports team in the world, which the person(s) who answered this clearly has not done.

The All Blacks answer below seems to be working on the theory of national sports teams, but again this would be impossible to answer without checking the records of thousands of national sports teams in the world, which the person(s) who answered this clearly have not done.

The England XI Football team (as opposed to the England Full International Football Team) has a winning percentage of 78.67% plus a draw percentage of 10%. This is greater than the All Blacks test record. The United States National Basketball team has a win percentage of 87%. Again greater than the All Blacks test record. This is just two examples of national teams with a better record than the All Blacks in test matches. However as I said before it would be almost impossible to give a definitive answer.

A look at the answer below, I see some unusual statements and would like to know how did Romania, Canada, Japan, Italy, Argentina, Samoa and Fiji get described as World Rugby Heavyweights? Italy and Argentina have improved a lot in recent years, but are still along way off in being classed as World Heavyweights!

Then there is the only five test nations have ever beaten the All Blacks statement. Well up until fairly recent years there were only eight test playing nations. That means only Scotland and Ireland from the traditional tests nations have failed to beat the All Blacks!

Mention is made that the All Blacks won the first Rugby Union World Cup. No mention is made that was on home soil and in the five tournaments held since on foreign soil the All Blacks have failed to lift the cup again.

Comparisons to the Brazilian Football Team are not very good. The All Blacks have a greater win percentage, but this is hardly sursprising as stated before there were only eight test playing nations for so long. None of their opponents had Rugby as the major sport in their country. You may say South Africa, however this is only among the white minority. In 2008 there were 4,540,410 Footballers compared to 511,561 Rugby Union players in South Africa. You may also point to Wales, but in 2008 there were 173,550 Footballers and only 46,324 Rugby Union players in Wales. There were also 1,920 Football Clubs in Wales compared to 325 Rugby Union Clubs. The two best supported Football Clubs in Wales in 2008-09 were Cardiff City with an average attendance of 18,044 and Swansea City with 15,195. Compare this to the two best supported Rugby Union Clubs in 2008-09, Cardiff Blues with 8,673 and (Swansea) Ospreys 8,405, you see that even in Wales Rugby is not as major a sport, as some would like to think. In Football there are 208 member nations of FIFA, the majority where football is the number one sport in the country. Brazil then has far more quality opponents than the All Blacks are going to get as in most countries Rugby is a minority sport. It therefore stands to reason that the win percentage is likely to be lower for International Football teams. Brazil, however have won the World Cup (Football) on five occasions all on foreign soil.

Finally the comment that Wales have not beaten the All Blacks since 1954, it almost certainly would have been 1978 if it wasn't for Andy Haden taking a dive!

Read the All Blacks answer below:-

In over a hundred years of rugby, the All Blacks hold an 84% winning record against all oppostion played. They have also won 74% of all test matches played, and hold a winning record against EVERY TEST NATION IN THE WORLD (including the British & Irish Lions, and the World XV).

Romania (the best team in Eastern Europe), Canada (the best team in North America), Japan (the best in Asia), and other World Rugby Heavyweights Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Argentina, Samoa, and Fiji have never beaten New Zealand.

The average margin when playing the All Blacks is 25-12- that is, they have scored more than twice the amount of points than all opposition combined.

New Zealand is so good, that they have never been ranked lower than 3rd on the World Rankings. In 1987, they were crowned the first ever Rugby World Champions beating France in the final 29-9.

Since 1996, when rugby became professional, the All Blacks have played 149 games, winning 121. Their victories have lead to 9 Tri-Nations Championships in 13 years, play-off appearances in every World Cup to date, a first ever test series victory in South Africa, 7 undefeated tours to Europe; including 2 Grand Slams Tours(when a team plays England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales in succesive weeks and win), a test series whitewash against the British & Irish Lions, a World record 30 test victories in a row on home soil (spanning five years), the Bledisloe Cup, and the Hillary Shield.

Only five test nations IN HISTORY have ever beaten the All Blacks- Australia, South Africa, France, England, and Wales (who have not beaten New Zealand since 1954). The most successful team to ever play New Zealand is South Africa (winning just 40% of the time), while Australia have won the most times (39 victories from 132 matches).

This small, tiny nation boasts a player pool of just 90,000- yet they provide the bulk of the Rugby Hall of Fame.

Not even the great Brazilian Football Team can match the proud winning record of New Zealand. The same applies to Canada in Ice Hockey, Australia in Cricket, or any professional sports team from the United States.

The All Blacks

Seriously, I defy anyone to say the All Blacks are the not history's most dominant team in a major international sport in which at least 10 nations are competitive.

Over 108 years, they have won 363 of their 483 matches. That's a win ratio of almost 77 per cent. Break the stats down by opposition and it's even more impressive: If you discount amalgamated teams (like the World XV and British and Irish Lions), the All Blacks have lost to just five fully-fledged Test teams in their history.

Show me a team from a country of four million people with a record like that in any sport. The United States basketball team might be the closest thing to an eternally dominant power in a major global team sport, but they've got closer to 400 million people to choose from.

Brazil and Germany dominate soccer, but they're never that far ahead of the field. Not year after year and decade after decade and even century after century.

Of course, as we all know, the All Blacks' Achilles heel has long been the Rugby World Cup. Since winning the first tournament on home soil in 1987 - against France, the opponent they'll face in the Rugby World Cup 2011 - they have found a way to choke in the knockout stages each time.'

Sporting history is full of famous chokes, but none on the nightmarish, recurring scale of the All Blacks at the Rugby World Cup. Before the semi-final against Australia, they had never beaten the Wallabies Australia at a World Cup. In their previous meeting, in 2003, they were definitely better that Australia on paper. Yet somehow the Wallabies prevailed.
