Best Answer

Muhammad Ali Jinnah supported and represented the Muslims of India in an independence movement.

He believed that in the circumstance that British left the Indian peninsula and control went over to the sub-continent went over to the Hindus (which were in vast majority) then the Muslims would be persecuted by the Hindus and would suffer greatly in every walk of life (this belief was supported by many facts and incidents of that time. Actually at first Jinnah was a supporter of a united India and worked under the Hindu-dominated congress, but later on his views regarding partition of India formed).

To provide the Muslims with a safe haven he fought for his cause and was successful in persuading the British to form a new independent state in those provinces which had Muslim majority population in them. He was the founder and the first governor-general and commander-in-chief of this newly found state "Pakistan".
