Yes, you should ignore him or anybody who is abusive. The truth is: nobody is perfect and sometimes we need people to teach us a lesson. Ignoring him is the best thing you could do for him and for YOU. If he really loves you, he will eventually realize he made a mistake but this would only happen if you ignore him long enough, and this means, ignoring his first attempts to contact you, it is hard but at the end it is worth it. I totally Feel you. This happens to me all the time with my ex. I would remind yourself of how you are too good for him everytime he calls or texts. Or give him a good breakup ringtone that helps you (I recommend "picture to burn") but stay strong and know there is someone else out there
