It really depends what the audition is for. If you mean musical auditions it would include- dancing, singing and of course acting. It could go over a period of time. Other auditions for live shows would include- seeing if you are comfortable around the camera, personality, improvisation.......etc.

I hope I helped.

Professional auditions are absolute torture, especially an open "cattle call" audition. After signing up with the assistant stage manager, you wait in a room for a long time with anywhere from 10 to 1000 other hopefuls for your shot at being noticed for a very short time. Other actors waiting may try to make you nervous, or may look down at you for no reason whatsoever. Finally, when you are called in front of the casting director, you are given a chance to perform your short piece. The director will send you out of the room after you are done. More than likely the director won't say anything good or bad -- just send you out. The audition process is a necessary evil for a new actor. You have to have a thick skin and be willing to attend many, many audtions before being chosen.

This depends on the role you are auditioning for, whether its for film, television, stage etc, and the director and level of professionalism. If you are asked to prepare a monologue, find one you are comfortable with and one that suits the role. For example, if you are auditioning for a Shakespeare play, don't perform one for a modern character. However, you may only get the script on arrival, and will be asked to read through it. At large, open auditions, you will most likely be asked to do a few activities as a group, then they will select a few for a further audition. Sometimes you will have to sing and dance as well, if the role demands it. Most likely, you will have to wait for a while until it is your turn to perform.

To be honest, it varies for every audition, but one thing that never changes is that they are assessing you all the time, so be warned! :)

First you have your name and your details and when they call your name you give them and then once you've given your details you start singing and then you see if you get through. well that was easy!

The answer above is a big fat LIE!! There is nothing easy about X Factor Auditions. for registration you wait for 7-8 hours outside in the cold with 30,000 people and then, if you did not get pneumonia that day, the next day you go to the auditions at 7 am, get locked up in a huge arena for 14-17 hours, finally it's your turn to sing.

If you pass the first audition the next one is in less than 12 hours. YOu arrive the next day and the "producers" of the show make you dance and scream "I have the X Factor" for an hour and if you still did not lose your voice after 3 days of torture and an hour of screaming, you go and sing in front of judges again.....

yes, i would be tempted to go with the second reply to this question, there is nothing glamorous about auditioning for talent shows.

so you have to really decide in advance if it is something that you really want to do.

otherwise i would say think twice, because you have to consider:

1, how much it will cost you to get to one of these auditions and stay there.

2, how many hours of stress standing around waiting.

3, even if you get through, that is not it.

4, there are many stages before you get to what we see on tv.

so yes, you have to think twice about this because it is not how it is shown on television, that part is after you have already been through many stages of auditions.

tv is made to look glossy to sell a image, so do not let that trick you, the auditions will not be easy, so you have to decide accordingly before choosing to audition.

you go in, could be scheduled or a casting call where anyone can come in that meats the standards its casting call, you usually get a number that you use to audition (they call your number you audition) if its scheduled they will have a few people waiting to hear you (most likely you still must wait for people ahead of you)and you preform. if they like you you'll get in, if not you don't.
