Hiromi Kobayashi was a member of Japan's synchronized swimming team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She began to hyperventilate as the team's performance in the finals ended and needed to be lifted out of the pool by two men who saw her struggling and jumped into the pool to help her. She fainted after being removed from the pool but recovered quickly and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
