Giants Stadium opened up on October 10, 1976 to an NFL game between the Giants and Dallas Cowboys. The first Giants TD was scored by wide receiver Jim Robinson on a 30 yard pass from Craig Morton in the 3rd quarter that made the score 17-7 in a game the Giants eventually lost, 24-14.

The first ever TD was scored by Robert Newhouse of the Cowboys on an 8 yard run in the 1st quarter.
