Most NFL players wear Reebok gloves because Reebok is a sponsor of the NFL. However, I think Cutters gloves are the best gloves. They have great grip and are very comfortable.

they also wear a lot of nike

Quarterbacks normally don't use gloves truth be told, albeit they do on cold, snowy days (i.e. Tom Brady and Big Ben). There are pros and cons to wearing gloves when QBing. (1) You definitely get a better grip on the ball and your keep your hands (much) warmer in those frosty conditions but (2) you lose that 'feel' on the ball when you're releasing it. I play quarterback and have small fingers so I figured I need a glove for better grip. However, not being able to FIRMLY grip the ball with gloves on is another story. It's the moment when you scrunch on with your fingertips as you throw you realize the space between your fingers and your glove will never be synchronized. That's the annoying part. I will continue trying to throw with gloves on but I don't really feel that comfortable with them. At times I had to take them off b/c I was throwing so bad. I even got the smallest size (S) and thought it would make a difference but not with 100% accuracy. It always comes down to the tips of your finger and that little separation in between

BUT if I had to choose QB gloves, I would recommend Cutters. Their C-Tack material are very sticky and they have a glove exclusively designed for QBs called the "017Q"

In the NFL are players only required to wear helmet and shoulder pads?

Yes, I play football at the Pro level and there are many skilled position players as well as special teams players that only wear shoulder pads and helmets.. In practice we sometimes only wear shoulder pads and helmets we call it pro-pads we also wear this during training camp a lot and when we are not going to hit full speed.

Why soccer players should not wear helmets?

Soccer players should not wear helmets because they are not an authorized part of a player's equipment under Law 4 of the IFAB's Laws of the Game, the rules the world plays by. This is because in soccer, actions which might cause head injury are disallowed, unlike in American (Gridiron) football, where players would be at a substantial and imminent risk without their helmet.

Why do you put symbols on the side of football helmets?

You need the football helmet mainly for protection ,especially concussions. Way back in the good ol' days, players wore helmets made from leather and without face mask , nowadays players have something to hold on to, of course illegally. The football helmet is also used for the uniform and team identification. The rough and tumble British sport "Rugby",players wear no protection gear at all.
