There are 5 main groups for NFL coaches.
1. Head Coach-
Essentially, runs the team. Makes all significant decisions, including but not limited to draft picks, trades, free agents, player contracts, day-to-day practice, depth charts, in-game substitutions, general scheme. Has sub-coaches to aid him in most decisions.
2. Assistant Head Coach-
Consider him the team's vice-president. Has no official duties, except those assigned to him by the head coach.
3. Offensive Coordinator-
Develops offense strategy, plays, and players themselves.
4. Defensive Coordinator-
Develops defense strategy, plays, and players themselves.
5. Special Teams Coach-
Assigned to work with kickoff/4th down strategy, including punting, kicking, long-snapping, returning, and blocking.
He's keeps off/def/special coordinators cooperating. Supervises general state of all three formations, makes the final call on a play while playing a GAME(often, after adjusting it with coordinators.)
Is responsible for:
they teach kids the meaning of the game and help them become better at the sport. they put the kids at the postions the think the kids will play best at
They Call the plays sometimes and tell the players what to do and how to play
if they can bench press 350 lbs, and if they truley hate football with a passion, they will be the greatest

Sometimes, like NFL Coaches aren't always as athletic but school coaches and little league coaches for the most part are. ! :-)
According to the forbs list college coaches are paid more than NFL coaches.
