The Provisional Government had taken over from Tsar Nicholas II in the February 1917 Revolution, but it was still committed to fighting the war against the Central Powers. Once Lenin ousted the Provisional Government, he arranged the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk between Russia and the Central Powers to end Russia's involvement in the war.

∙ 11y agobefore WW1 Russia had war wit Japan, so she was little weaken by that war....When Russian Empire entered war it was Tsar Nikolai decision to help Kingdom of Serbia to fight Austrian Hungary...But when Lenin came to power in 1917 he saw that Russian people doesn't have anything good from parcipating in WW1...Actually nider Britain, France, Germany or other big countries had anything good, WW1 was a war in wich many men died for 2m of land in trench war...So if Lenin wanted to make any changes to better in Soviet society, he had to stop the war that was exhausting for Russia...
