At the D1 FBS level (the highest level of College Football) there are three schools in New England - Boston College, a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference; the University of Connecticut, a member of the American Athletic Conference; and the University of Massachussets Amherst (UMass), a member of the Mid-American Conference.
There are also 11 New England schools at the FCS level, which is also considered Division 1, but not at the same level of competition as the FBS (FCS schools do not play for the major bowl games).
England is the country where the D1 building is found.
No, but I do.
d1 is much more competitive, better players, bigger stadiums, bigger colleges, etc.
Professional? Kind of. The New England Patriots play out of Foxboro, about 30 minutes south of Boston. Boston College has a D1 college football program out of Newton/Brighton and Harvard out of Cambridge.
