If it's a two-stroke, you could have a fouled plug. Try replacing it. If it starts fouling repeatedly, try cleaning your air filter and being easy on the amount of oil you put on it. Also cleaning the carb could fix that problem.

If it's a four-stroke, you might not have enough compression due to a need for a valve adjustment.
