Construction of "Cubs Park" (later - in 1926 - to be known as Wrigley Field), at 1060 West Addison Street in Chicago IL began in 1914.

The FIRST Wrigley Field was in Los Angeles CA, and home to the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast (minor) League. It was built in 1925. A lot of famous baseball movies were filmed there, because of its close proximity to Hollywood. TV's Home Run Derby was also filmed there.

Why are do the Chicago Cubs Bears share a similar name?

The story goes that when George Halas moved the Decatur Staleys football team to Chicago in 1921 he wanted to come up with a new name for the team. Since the team was going to play it's home games at Cubs Park (now Wrigley Field), which was the home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, he decided on Bears because bears are bigger and stronger than cubs just as football players are bigger and stronger than baseball players.
