Left defence is not not a position in soccer. There are left full backs, left backs, left wing backs, left centre backs. And their job is to defend lol though some teams like their left/right backs (and wing backs) to run down the wings and get crosses in to the strikers so wing backs have to be fast ideally for that role
you have the forwards, the midfielders (half backs), defense (full backs), and the goalie of coarse....which gives you 4 positions
I believe you are looking for the Striker there is also a right wing and a left wing

alot of right full backs usually
7- scrum half, out half, inside centre, outside centre, right wing, left wing, fullback.
'The backs' are made up of: Scrum Half (No. 9), Fly Half (No. 10), Inside Centre (No. 12), Outside Centre (No. 13), Left Wing (No. 11), Right Wing (No. 14) and the Fullback (No. 15). Therefore there are 7 players in the backs.
In Union - Technically 4 There are 2 wings in the backs numbered 11 and 14 and 2 wing forwards - 6 and 7 In league they dispensed with wing forwards and retailed the wings in the backs as traditional
there are four positions on a soccer field unless you are talking about peewee soccer. there is the goalie forward or striker, midfield, and the backs or defenders
Because they had wing forward now called flankers and then had to distinguish the backs by calling them wing three quarters as the were in the three quarter position i..e Scrum half and Outside haf are called "Half Backs" and the full back is "full back" the centres were classed as three quarter back.
