There is no set amount of money for finishing second in the Daytona 500. What is known is that the first and second place finishers make over $1 million.
The amount changes a little each year. But the second place driver usually earns around $1.1 million, with the winner receiving $1.5 million. For example, in the 2013 Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt Jr, finished second and earned $1,104,814. Junior also finished second in 2012, where he earned $1,103,150.

Of the three contestants, the one who finishes with the most money wins the game and gets to keep the money. The contestant who finishes in second place receives $2000 and the third place finisher receives $1000. The winner of the show gets to return to play two new challengers.
